AFBA Volunteer Corps

Greetings, fellow food bloggers!  My name is Christy Horton and you can find me blogging at epicuriosities.com.  I’m excited to share that I’ve taken on the task of managing outside volunteer requests for our membership. Volunteering for the numerous foodie festivals and special events in and around Austin has opened so many doors for me and I can’t wait to share that with you.

Of course, volunteering is its own reward. But in addition to that feeling of pride you get in doing something good for your community, you’ll find that many events ask their volunteers to work only a couple of hours, after which they are free to enjoy the rest of the event for free or reduced cost. Volunteering also gives you the opportunity to work behind the scenes with your favorite chefs, restaurant owners, and fellow Austin foodies.

If this sounds like something you’d like to do, please take a couple of minutes to fill out the online form below.  Signing up does not obligate you to participate – it just puts you on a mailing list to receive notifications as opportunities arise. TABC certification is not required (but it does open the door the more volunteer opportunities). And the Volunteer Corps is open only to Austin Food Blogger Alliance members in good standing.
