Want to play with fire, create a spicy smoke infused rub and learn about every cut of beef known to man? You need look no further than the the Texas Beef Council‘s own studio cooking school.
And, on a not too cool summer’s day, ATX food bloggers and friends gathered in this famous studio for an afternoon of foodie companionship – all in the name of Texas beef.
Fortified with glasses of signature Sangria we began the class with our culinary hosts, Tiffany Collins Blackmon,TBC Culinary Director and Jerry McPherson,TBC Events & Logistics Coordinator.
While Tiffany gave us tips on how to construct the perfect recipe, Jerry gave insight for cooking with fire on the grill.
With their expertise and our will-to-grill ambition, we built charcoal pyramids which burst into fearsome flames.
We made custom rubs out of herbs and spices, picked out our very own cut of beef and commenced to becoming the best grill masters imaginable.
A heartfelt thanks to the Texas Beef Council and a special shout-out to Rachel Chou, Senior Manager of Consumer Communications for organizing this AFBA event.
It was wonderful and memorable day. Cheers!
