Last call for recipes for the Austin Food Blogger Alliance community cookbook

By June 30, 2012Cookbook
We’re in the home stretch for gathering recipes for the Austin Food Blogger Alliance community cookbook!

The recipes have been rolling in the past few weeks. With the heat, it’s no wonder Natalie Paramore of  Food Fetish offered up a Watermelon Salad with Gorgonzola. Also thinking summer was Shelley Lucas of Franish Nonspeaker, who is expecting our newest little AFBA member right when this heat is scheduled to break. She shared her peaches ‘ cream scones recipe (above).

Introducing her “For the Birds” Salsa, Rachel Matthews of And Then Make Soup explains how she uses up all those bird peppers,  or chile pequins, that the birds in her backyard gift her with every year. Foie Gras Hot Dog bloggers Ryan Schierling and Julie Munroe kindled up memories of South by Southwest with their papaquiles, which were served by the hundreds out of a food truck sponsored by the “Today” show back in a cold and rainy March. (Ahhhh….)

We are taking recipes through the end of this weekend (that’s through the end of the day on Sunday, July 1) via this submission form. Not sure what to submit? Don’t think too hard about it. Almost every recipe you make has some kind of story behind it, so just tell us where it came from and why you like it. Here are a few more posts to get you thinking.
Thanks for all your support, especially to our cookbook sponsor, Cooking Planit, and offers of help and ideas!
