When the temperature drops, only Italian food will do! Lucky for us at AFBA, the good folks at Taverna hosted a complimentary happy hour so that Austin’s hungriest foodies could celebrate the holiday season.
Taverna is conveniently located in the heart of downtown in the popular 2nd Street District. Whether shopping on 2nd or taking in a show at ACL Live, Taverna is a great stop for lunch, happy hour, dinner, or brunch. Our event was hosted in their new private lounge, which is an extension of the bar area and a cozy space with leather couches, armchairs, coffee tables and large television screens that played everyone’s favorite holiday music videos! It was a great size space for our party of 50—it felt intimate but not crowded with plenty of space to move around and mingle (or dash for more food & drinks!).

But now to the good stuff—the food! Our menu included the following:
Bruschetta // Toasted ciabatta, fresh tomatoes, garlic and extra virgin olive oil
Mini Arancini // saffron bolognese, mushrooms and goat cheese
Butternut Squash Tortellini // brown butter, sage and amaretto cookie crumbles
Assorted mini pizzas

Taverna is part of the Lombardi restaurant group, which has another Taverna location at the Domain Northside. Right next door to Taverna in the Domain is their cute French restaurant, Toulouse Café and Bar.
