We started off April with a member happy hour at Shady Grove!

Open since 1992, this classic Austin restaurant is known for its home-cooking and spacious patio. With a 100-year-old pecan tree shading the patio, Shady Grove is also the home of the popular “Unplugged at the Grove” music series. Now in its 26th season, this free music concert on Thursday nights is one of those must-do experiences as an Austinite.
While live music is great, we were here to enjoy the best thing about Shady Grove – the food! The restaurant gave us an incredible spread of dishes, including:
- Fried chicken minis
- Fried shrimp
- Classic cheeseburgers
- Hippie sandwiches on GF bread
- Tamale Cakes
- Chips/ Fries/ Queso
- Chocolate chip pecan pie
- Peanut butter ice cream pie
- Chocolate mousse pie
