Me too! Austin local, 100% organic @franklyorganicvodka invited the Austin Food Blogger Alliance for a virtual happy hour, and may I just say they are doing everything the way I hope people would? Fresh, organic ingredients, zero garbage in their vodka, AND they give back a percentage of profit to various animal rescue organizations, including @austinpetsalive and many smaller animal rescue orgs. My favorite is the pomegranate lemon, with a close second of grapefruit with Ceylon cinnamon. The strawberry-lemon vodka is their most popular flavor, nice for summer, and even has turmeric in it (functional ingredients only). They were originally inspired by a wellness shot at @wholefoods and that inspired the whole line of Frankly vodka, and is my favorite winter (for me) vodka, apple and ginger root with cayenne. Giddy up! That's something we need in our mules, STAT! All you need is this delightful spirit and a splash of ginger beer or soda. They also have the base vodka for those who want to mix it with their own favorite mixers. I genuinely love and buy this vodka. They have finally released their coffee bourbon and it should be in stores by the end of the month. Thanks for sending some free samples over to the @atxfoodblogs so we could be among the first to try it out! . First, @devilsrwhiskey starts with a Vienna Roast blend of free-trade coffee beans from a local San Antonio coffee roaster. Then, the bourbon is #steepedsinfully with the coffee beans for at least 24 hours at a low temperature. Finally, they mix the bourbon-infused coffee whiskey with 100% organic blue weber agave nectar. The result is a bourbon that already tastes like a mixed cocktail. . In addition to just drinking it on the rocks (like I did - it already tastes like a smooth dessert!), they have all kinds of recipes on their website. Make yourself a Devil’s Coffee Colada, a Bourbon Spiked Iced Coffee, a Wake-Up Whiskey Sour… so many options! I’m super interested in making something with ice cream. Tonight I’m sippin on Texas- made Devil River Whiskey infused with smoky Lapsang oolong tea then drank neat or over the rocks. I’m sure other teas work well but black is where it’s at and the smokiness pairs well with the whiskey. Just take a tea bag and let it sit in a few ounces of whiskey for at least 30 minutes but longer preferred. I’m not saying Devils River Whiskey can make you hurt ‘em like Hammer, but whatever Hammertime means for you, it will help get you there.
