A great big hug and thank you to all who made Cupcakes and Cocktails 2013 such a roaring success. First of all, thanks to Chef Aimee Olson and the staff at Le Cordon Bleu who so graciously hosted us in their facilities and fed us so well. The bacon wrapped scallops were HUGE and delicious.
A thank you with frosting and sprinkles to all of the bakeries that really outdid themselves with such imaginative and tasty creations. Crema Bakery and Cafe, Butterstick Bakery, SugaPlump Pastries, Delish, Blue Note Bakery, and Sugar Mama’s Bakeshop for providing such astounding culinary confections.
A straight up thank you to our generous cocktail sponsors T1 Tequila, who also generously donated a second private tasting after the first one sparked a bidding war, Treaty Oak Distilling for providing 3 tasty cocktails, and Hops and Grain for providing 3 beers to choose from including my new summertime fave, The One Called Zoe.
Supportive thanks for our additional sponsors, Central Market who donated the beautiful bouquets and Google Local who is also sponsoring a contest through August 15 to win a $150 gift certificate to Uchiko. I have not seen this link anywhere except at Cupcakes and Cocktails, so I think if you enter, your chances of winning are VERY good. https://www.google.com/local/contest/austinfoodbloggers.
Bidding many thanks to all of our auction donors who generously gave all to benefit the Arc of the Capital Area. Final numbers, we collected $8206.84 through ticket sales and auction items.
Finally, my most heartfelt thanks to my tireless committee that sacrificed so much of themselves to pull the event together. Kristina Wolter of Girl Gone Grits, Maggie Perkins of Notes from Maggie’s Farm (special thanks to Maggie for the pics of the event below as well), Suzanna Cole of South Austin Foodie, Michelle Nezambadi of Beyond Picket Fences, and Linda Nguyen of Girl Eats World and the entire board of the Austin Food Bloggers Alliance for their continuing support of our philanthropic endeavors.
Thank you to all and to all a good night!
There are not enough words to articulate our gratitude. The event was absolutely nothing short of fantastic (and incredibly delicious!). Everyone on the committee was a joy to work with. Thank you for supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. We are forever grateful!!!
Great work everybody!
