2012 Austin to Boston Food Swap

By August 21, 2012Social

Would you like to get to know a food blogger outside of Austin? Do you love giving gifts and receiving them in return? If you answered yes to these two questions, and you are a member of the Austin Food Blogger Alliance, we hope you’ll participate in our second annual (well, now it’s annual since we did it last year for the first time), Austin to Boston Food Swap!

AFBA member Josh Kimbell is working with Boston Food Bloggers organizer Rachel Leah Blumenthal to coordinate the swap. To participate, AFBA members have until Saturday, Sept. 15 to send Josh an email at  Pax2017@hotmail.com with the subject line reading: AFBA FOOD SWAP. In the body of the e-mail they should include their full name, mailing address, and the URL of their blog. In early September, Josh and Rachel will begin making matches.

Each of the pairs should introduce themselves to each other by e-mail, sharing any likes/dislikes or food allergies with their swap-mate. Items that can be sent include both home-made and store bought food/drink and anything else you want to throw in to represent Austin. We have suggested each blogger spend no more than $30 on the contents in their package. All packages should be sent out by Oct. 15, and each blogger is encouraged to take pictures and blog about what they send and receive (maybe wait until your partner receives your package before ruining the surprise by blogging about it though).

For more details about the swap, be sure to check out Josh’s post on his blog, Avocado Apex. Rachel has also written a post for the Boston food bloggers that you can read here.

For inspiration, check out the blog posts from last year’s Austin to Boston swap.
