AFBA Brunch at Taquero Mucho

By June 17, 2020Events

In the month of love, it was very fitting for Taquero Mucho to invite Austin Food Blogger Alliance to brunch in their very pink restaurant! Remember when we dined at Gabriela’s? Their owners have opened this new restaurant with plenty of photo ops around the restaurant and on the plate. I hope you like the color pink!

We started our meal off with the classics: chips and salsa, guacamole, queso, choriqueso, and pink margaritas! Then we ordered our favorite tacos – options like crispy shrimp, adobada, and carnitas – from the menu.

Our members loved dining here! Check out their social posts for more about our brunch:

Thanks to @taqueromuchoaustin for hosting our contributing blogger, @jojoaustin at the @atxfoodblogs brunch yesterday! This newly opened taco-focused restaurant is already drawing in locals and tourists alike with its irresistible, pink decor, it's strong, delicious pink margaritas, and even its pink tortillas. โฃ โฃ It's not only adorable and Instagrammable, but the food is solid! No surprise, because it's owned by the same sister and brother duo who've made @gabrielasdowntown such a hit. โฃ โฃ One dish Gabriela's regulars will recognize is the popular appetizer, the choriqueso. A little bit of this rich, tasty Mexican-style queso goes a long way! Definitely shareable for a group. Their homemade chips are delicious, too. And the tacos, are, of course, pink! Never fear, Taquero Mucho's drinks and tortillas don't derive their color from anything sugary or chemicals. It's a house-made beet-based coloring they use (thus the variations in different batches of margaritas and tortillas). The beet flavor is not noticeable, I promise! โฃ โฃ โฃ For $12, I got a two-taco plate, with chicken tacos on homemade corn tortillas, a small side of guac, refried beans, and rice. It was filling; the tacos are a good size and tasted good. While it was a #hosted meal, I honestly did enjoy it and will go back for sure. Thanks and congrats to @taqueromuchoaustin for the experience and the meal!
